Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Bumi is operated by Classy Systems, LLC. This policy explains what we collect on learnbumi.com and why. We don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

  • Email and optional answers you give us when you join the list (for example, why you're learning Tamil).
  • Purchase details when you become a founding member: your email, the amount, and Stripe's customer and payment references. Card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Usage analytics through PostHog: pages viewed, buttons clicked, how far you scroll, rough location from your IP address, device and browser type, and session recordings of how the page is used. Anything typed into form fields is masked in recordings.
  • Campaign information such as the referring site and UTM tags in the link you followed.

How we use it

To tell you about Bumi's progress and launch, deliver your founding membership, process refunds, prevent abuse, and understand which parts of the site are useful.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the site: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), PostHog (analytics), Vercel (hosting) and our email provider. Each processes data on our behalf.

Example clips on the home page play in YouTube's embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that player.

How long we keep it

List emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for your membership and for legal and tax requirements.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email, and you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data by emailing hello@learnbumi.com. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have additional rights, and we'll honour them.

Children

The site and pre-sale are intended for adults. If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up for you.
